10th Vocal Celebration: 18 August 2018

This years 10th Vocal Celebration should not be missed as we celebrate the past 10 years of vocal excellency at Stirling High School. As part of the celebration we have invited three past pupils who have excelled in the music world since matriculating. The past pupils are Opera star Litho Nqai, Musical theater extraordinaire Kay Mosiane and Top UCT Jazz Vocalist Robin Castle. They will be doing solo performances as well as a few numbers each with the Stirling Choirs.

You will get to hear Stirling’s current top vocalists perform, namely Daniel Anderson, Sonqoba Njengele (drummer for the SA schools Big Band), Hannah Moerdyk (Stirling Big Band singer) and many more. Daniel has received the trophy for Best Vocalist at the Port Rex Lions Music Eisteddfod two years running and is well known across East London as a performer and entertainer.

The Stirling High School Chamber will also be featured after their recent success at both the ATKV Applouse competition and the World Choir Games in Tshwane. At the ATKV they received honours cum laude and the highest result out of 200 participating choirs from around the country. At the World Choir Games they received Gold and 5th place in the Youth Choir Category (first choir from South Africa) and another Gold and 6th place (second choir from South Africa) in the Folklore with accompaniment category.
