Artvark Saxophone Quartet: 9 April 2019

The Artvark Saxophone Quartet is a selection of excellent Dutch musicians, all with impressive musical pedigrees, who have thrown away the restrictive traditions of formal performance and have created their own etiquette – simply enjoy the music! The ensemble stands for innovative original compositions, strong individual soloists and the adventurous groove of four saxophones. Artvark thrills, stinks, growls and sizzles.

Artvark feels strongly connected to South Africa, having played the work of South African composers like Abdullah Ibrahim and toured here in 2014 and again in 2016.

The Stirling Big Band will also perform, joining the professional quartet in an international collaboration that will be an incredible experience for the young players.
